I will blitz through and pore over anything related to family history.

I’m Barbie and it is an unmitigated pleasure to have the opportunity to learn and share with you all that we can about those who lived before us.

For over fifteen years, I’ve navigated through mainly digital avenues and broken through many a brick wall.

People connections have been equally as important, adding facts and anecdotes that could never be found in archival evidence.

As an American descendant of slavery, I have discovered through this research that our story is shared but not monolithic.

If nothing else, I intend this blog to demonstrate and reiterate that we are a people of legacy and lineage. We only need to seek because
