In 2013, I had the pleasure of learning more about my Williams family history. In addition to being introduced to a number of cousins and elders, I was also introduced to this lovely piece of artwork.
This sketch hangs in the lovely home of my great-uncle. While I’m not sure who created the piece, I do believe that it was a Williams family member. The work is based on photos of both subjects.
It’s very interesting to see artwork as part of historical family items. I feel that while pictures tell a thousand words, art speaks at least thousand more.
Here’s to family!
The Genealogy Situation Room
My dad painted portraits of my great grandparents from photos and they hang in my Mom’s dining room. They are wonderful. I’ve thought of drawing some pictures from photos I own but never have.
